Shared Assets, Land In Our Names (LION) and Cohere will work with citizens and civil society from communities all over England to surface, develop and amplify stories of change from the pandemic, bringing to life a new narrative of how land can help us achieve a just social, environmental and economic recovery and renewal.
The pandemic has revealed the inequalities and broken elements of our current system. From the disparities of access to quality green space for those living in more deprived areas, to the long global food supply chains reliant on migrant labour that were so easily disrupted, the precarity of the current system has been laid bare. The outputs will be used by trained advocates and others to raise awareness of how land can be a resource for community led regeneration, to engage public, private and charitable landowners to consider how their land can be used to support a just recovery, and to advocate for a more socially, economically and environmentally just land system.
