The Job Design Lab

About

The Job Design Lab will host hundreds of public workshops to give people the power to shape their future work and redesign their jobs, both in light of COVID-19 and in response to new technologies and the green transition.

Participants will chart a future for work they want and tell a new collective story about what ‘good work’ could be.

This grant will enable ALT/Now, The Liminal Space and the Centre for Innovation in Voluntary Action to work together to prototype online versions of these workshops in settings across the country, to help people step into the future so they are better equipped to shape what work they do. The prototype will focus on workers providing the most vital public and private services across the UK. They will experiment with bringing them together through three types of host organisation: community based groups (e.g. the YMCA, local libraries); employers (the Coop, local authorities); worker organisations (Community Trade Union, Labour Xchange and professional trade bodies).
