Conversations that Count: Hearing 'quieter' communities' experiences of COVID-19

About

This project will create space for diverse communities to engage, be heard and lead action, exploring new kinds of relationships that have formed in response to COVID-19 and new kinds of challenges that have arisen.

The project will focus on 'quieter voices' - those affected by the pandemic in unique ways but whose stories are less heard and understood (e.g. people with sensory impairments, additional communications needs or low levels of English literacy), to understand how people who are often excluded from the conversation may be further isolated by the pandemic….but also, how they have coped, are adapting and what they need to increase their resilience. This will be done through creative workshops, written/photo journals and storytelling. The aim will be to create written narratives and narrative maps highlighting areas for community action, policy change and infrastructure support.
